How to Add Custom Domains to WiseFunnel (DNS and SSL in 10 Minutes)

Trust converts. A respondent who lands on a branded domain finishes the quiz at a higher rate than one who sees a generic shared URL. For agencies and consultants, the branded domain also protects the relationship, because the client sees your brand, or their own, instead of a platform name.

There is a practical reason too. Custom domains let you run each client on a separate URL, so analytics, cookies, and email deliverability stay clean and isolated. That separation is the backbone of a white-label setup.

You need three things. First, a domain or subdomain you control, such as youragency.com or a subdomain like quiz.youragency.com. Second, access to your DNS provider, which is usually your registrar (where you bought the domain) or your DNS host.

1. Open your workspace settings and go to the Domains section.
2. Enter the domain or subdomain you want to use, for example quiz.youragency.com.
3. WiseFunnel shows you a CNAME target. Copy it exactly.
4. Log in to your DNS provider and create a new CNAME record. Set the host to your subdomain and the value to the WiseFunnel target you copied.
5. Save the record. Back in WiseFunnel, click verify so the platform can check the record.
6. Once verified, WiseFunnel provisions an SSL certificate automatically and your domain goes live.

A CNAME maps your subdomain to the WiseFunnel host, so if the platform's address ever changes, your DNS does not need updating. That is why a subdomain plus CNAME is the cleanest path for most operators.

DNS propagation is the wait, not the work. A new CNAME record usually resolves in 5 minutes to an hour, though DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours in rare cases. If your domain still shows unverified after 15 minutes, give it another 15 to 30 minutes before troubleshooting.

The third error is impatience. An unverified domain after five minutes is usually normal, not broken. Check the record in a propagation tool, confirm it matches, and wait. If the CNAME is missing or not yet visible, SSL stays stuck in pending until DNS catches up.
